Ian Blair

London 7/7 Bombing and Stockwell shooting disaster - lessons

Lord Ian Blair was Commissioner of The Metropolitan Police from 2005 to 2008. An English Language & Literature graduate of Christ Church, Oxford, he gained a reputation as a "thinking man's policeman". He led the Met through the bombings of 2005 and all that followed. He now writes and lectures extensively. He was ennobled as Lord Blair of Broughton in 2010.

If it can go wrong it will so plan for the absolute worst case scenario. Beware of confirmation bias especially under severe time pressure. When a disaster happens you have to isolate it and move on but learn lessons from it.
