Millie Knight

Winter Para-Olympian

Skiing blind down a slope at 70mph, crashing out and competing again to win Silver

By age six, Millie Knight had lost 92% of her sight in both eyes and at the same age started skiing. Today, at just 19 years old, Millie is a double Winter Paralympian, three-time Paralympic medallist and current World Para Alpine Downhill Champion – titles she won competing with her sighted ski guide, Brett Wild. Last year Millie was shortlisted for the BBC Young Sports Personality of the Year and Sunday Times Young Sports Woman of the Year awards; and was also made an Honorary Doctor of the University of Kent for Commitment to Sport. In September this year, Millie will be going to University to study Psychology, before defending her downhill world title at the World Championship in Switzerland in March 2019.
