Captain Robert Calvert has over 45 years of experience in aviation, 25 of them as a training captain and examiner. From 2001 to 2009 Rob was Manager of Training Standards for the Civil Aviation Authority . He has recently been appointed Head of Training for development of the new UK SAR-H training organisation.
We must learn lessons from each crisis. Decision-making should be both intuitive and analytical but erring on the side of caution until the full facts are available.
