Gill has had a career long passion to support healthcare professionals to learn from each other to improve patient care. She is delighted to be working with Risky Business so healthcare professionals can gain insight from others about what is possible in the risky environment of delivering patient care.

Allan P Goldman, MBBChB, MRCP

Allan has worked as a paediatric intensive care specialist at Great Ormond Street Children's Hospital in London UK for the past 20 years. He also has a MSC in Sports Science and is Honorary visiting professor at City University in London. He has been a senior clinical lead at GOSH for the past 8 years and has a special interest in human factors, teamwork and leadership. He was the principle investigator in the theatre-ICU-Formula 1 study.

Guy Hirst

Guy is a Former Training Standardisation Captain with British Airways who introduced Human Factors training. Since 2000 has done research, training and coaching within healthcare. Co-founder Risky Business

Peter C Laussen, MB.BS., FANZCA, FCICM

Peter is the Chief of the Department of Critical Care Medicine at the Hospital for Sick Children, and has been a member of the Risky Business team since 2006. His research and professional interests focus on quality, systems and human engineering applied to critical care, and the use of continuous physiologic data for predictive modelling. While they live in Toronto, they maintain a property in the southern Berkshires of Massachusetts as their retreat, which as it turns out, is a good place to study burning platforms.

John Tiernan, BA, B Dent SC, DGDP(UK)

John worked as a dentist prior to joining Medical Protection(MPS) in 1993. As Director of Education from 2007-2014 he introduced MPS Educational Services to help colleagues develop the right skills to manage the risks of the modern professional environment. Following retirement as Executive Director of member Engagement he continues his passion for a sensible approach to Risk Management through his involvement with Risky Business.

John Nugent

John has spent his career in the events, hospitality and restaurant world, launching many new business and entities. Born in Dublin, he has spent his whole career in London working on large scale projects with many high profile commercial, arts and cultural organisations. He launched Green & Fortune in 2008, which operates at Sea Containers and Kings Place, London. His outside interests include being chairman of Global Generation, advisor to Sadler’s Wells theatre on catering and events strategy. He recently stepped down as director of the Kings Cross Business Partnership, where he was one of the founding directors and currently sits on the Islington Business Board.
