Psychiatrist in Chief
David R. DeMaso, M.D. is the Psychiatrist-in-Chief, Chairman of Psychiatry, and Leon Eisenberg Chair in Psychiatry at Children's Hospital Boston and a Professor of Psychiatry and Pediatrics at Harvard Medical School. His long-standing interest in understanding distress and promoting resilience in hospital clinicians has led him to direct the Office of Clinician Support at Children's Hospital Boston, a program that uniquely combines elements of an employee assistance program with those of a traditional Ombudsman's office to provide hospital clinicians with a safe, confidential environment to voice concerns, evaluate situations, organize thoughts, assess feelings, and decide what is important according to their specific circumstances.
